Pastor's Blog - 2009/01/10 
Have you heard the good news this year? Me neither. Every time I look I find more about the leader failure here and abroad, country conflict in Pakistan, Israel, et al. The newsreels and political blogs have been full of suggestions already in this first full week of 2009. But deep in my gut I am aware there is only one answer to this incurable malady, and that is Who we celebrated during Christmas. But, while we work and pray toward the 2nd Advent, my advice for making the best of life is found in a book by Robert Fulghum, All I really needed to know I learned in kindergarten. Here is his list:
· Share everything
· Play fair
· Put things back where you found them
· Clean up your own mess
· Say sorry when you hurt somebody
· Take a nap every afternoon
· When you go out into the world, watch for traffic, hold hands and stick together
· Live a balanced life - learn some and think some and paint and sing and dance and work and play everyday some
"Take any one of those items and extrapolate it into sophisticated adult terms and apply it to your family life or your work or government or your world and it holds true and clear and firm." - Fulghum
No matter how old you are,
these still make for a happier world.
