I have irises growing outside the front of my house. There is no aroma from nature as beautiful as what these phenomenal flowers proffer. Some say that that I am visual. I won't argue that. However when it comes to smells... hmmm.... Just now a myriad of wonderful scents wafted into my mind. I love to smell.
The lyrics from “Daystar” chorus come to mind: “Lily of the Valley, let your sweet aroma fill my life. What a wonderful idea! To smell like Jesus. To have someone next to you or next to me notice, without us saying a word, that we have the presence of Jesus inside.
“You. You with the big nose. You with the freckles. You with two left feet. You with the bald head. You with the sagging waistline. He [God] put the secret in you and, because He did, you have an inherent greatness about you…. The secret is this: Christ.” (37)
Certainly you have at sometime walked out of a restaurant or away from a campfire and noticed that you smell like where you just came from. You didn’t notice the smell while there, but now you’re stuck with it. Or maybe it is better compared to eating garlic, because the smell comes from the inside. However it is, spending time with Jesus will come out… and people will notice the sweetness.
